It has been a very busy fortnight for the Kinetic Welwyn racing team, with strong performances in road, circuit and time trials.
On the weekend of the 16th and 17th of April Ellie Cadzow and Gaia Casciello travelled to Northumberland to compete in the Tour of the Reservoir, part of the National Road series. Gaia rode strongly on both days to finish 55th in the general classification.
Time Trial specialist Annabel Sill continued her fine early season form in the Finsbury Park Hilly TT, securing the first Woman prize in a time of 28:39, knocking almost a minute off her previous year’s best.
Rachel Heptonstall is now placed 10th in the National Category 3 riders rankings with a recent 5th place Cyclopark and a 6th Hog Hill.
Ellie Cadzow also secure a 5th place at the midweek Abbeygate Development series race at the Milton Keynes Bowl and second place at the N&DCA 10M Time Trial on Sunday 24th April.
Also on Sunday Rachel, Gaia and Junior Anna Carter raced in the Essex Roads round of the Women’s Eastern Road Race League. Over the East Hanningfield circuit it was Gaia who was the leading Welwyn rider contesting the bunch sprint for a top ten finish, Anna was the leading Junior.
The team now travel to the popular Bedford Three Day event this coming weekend, part of the Women’s Team Series, it comprises of five stages over the bank holiday.
