The last of the regional youth omniums took place at the Olympic velodrome in Stratford on Sunday 13th. 14 Wheelers participated across the differing age categories. There were some notable results. In the Youth A ( U16) Oli Stockwell finished 3rd, Joe Kiely 5th, Archie Peet 6thand Tom Sharples 7th. In the U14s Euan Woodliffe was 2nd overall, Euan Woodliffe yet again won the time trial showing his consistency in this event team mate Caelen Miller finished 4th overall on the day. U16 girls Iona Moir was 5th. During the day there was some fantastic attacking riding in the U16s with Joe Kiely taking a great 2nd place in the scratch followed by team mate Archie Peet in 3rd who continued his attacking form throughout the day. Tom Sharples switched on his awesome engine to take 4th place in the TT with Oli Stockwell the Welwyn Wheelers youth tank taking 3rd – a great achievement across the whole day given the previous day’s record breaking effort.
In the U16 age category Oli Stockwell qualified for the National final and in the U14s both Euan Woodliffe, Caelen Miller and Beth Bennett qualified for the National final to be held in Derby in August.
