Gaia Casciello rode the in the main event of the day a 2 hour Women’s Team Series race with 86 ladies on the start line, the majority of whom were in trade teams.
They were lucky with the weather & it stayed dry for the race & the sun came out sporadically – although there were plenty of punctures due to the earlier heavy rain
Gaia had a fantastic ride staying with the bunch the whole race – she said of the race…
“I felt the race went really well & it was an amazing experience to be in such a big bunch.
I was really nervous before the race as I was scared I would get dropped as there were so many elite riders in the field.
I managed to keep with the bunch the whole way through & finished alongside Lucy Harper”
John Armstrong raced in the 3/4 Mens Support Race – placed 16th
Rebecca Maynard raced in the 3/4 Women’s Support Race – the winner lapped the field & as she went by Rebecca missed the split & came in 14th having ridden a strong race through out in miserable wet & windy conditions. Clare Fisk was also in the 3/4 women’s race we are awaiting the result.
